Rev. Larry Allen

Background

Reverend Allen is the ninth of eleven children born to Reverend John Quincy and Earlene Allen. The Allen family has a music history throughout their extended family tree.

Vocalists and musicians permeate the Allen "clan".

Reverend Allen was among the original members of the Los Angeles Gospel Messengers. He has been in the company of several of the recognized Gospel Greats, which includes Kurt Carr, Darryl Coley, Albertina Walker, Calvin Bernard Rhone, Steven Roberts, Ronald Materre, Michael Fletcher, Walter Scrutchings and Beverly Crawford to name a few.

He is employed full-time as the Music and Arts Coordinator at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is also a licensed charter bus driver.

Reverend Allen is married with three children. His wife Vanessa is musically trained and is a music teacher for Grand Rapids Public Schools. Vanessa received her Masters Degree in Music Education in April 2003. Their three sons are Darius, DeShaun and Derrick.
